10 Minute Dashboard is a personal life organizer. You use it to keep your own information in one place: documents, finances, passwords, notes, whatever you want. This policy explains what happens to that information. The short version is that almost none of it ever leaves your device, and we cannot read what you store.
Everything you actually put into the app stays on your device. Box labels, notes, file attachments, financial figures, passwords, every piece of content you add is saved locally in your browser storage (localStorage and IndexedDB).
That content is encrypted before it is written, using a key derived from your master passphrase with AES-GCM. The passphrase never leaves your device either, and we do not have a copy of it. Because the encryption key comes from something only you know, your data is unreadable to anyone (including us) without your passphrase.
Very little. We use PostHog for product analytics so we can see how the app and the marketing pages are used in aggregate. This covers things like which screens get opened, whether a feature is used, and basic device or browser information.
These analytics events are about usage, not about you personally and not about your content. We do not send the contents of your boxes, your notes, your files, your figures, or your passphrase to PostHog or to anyone. If you would rather not be counted in usage analytics, most browsers let you block analytics scripts or use a tracker-blocking extension.
The app has an optional setting that translates box labels from English to Spanish. If, and only if, you turn that setting on, the app sends the typed box label text to the MyMemory translation API to get the Spanish version back.
To be clear about what that does and does not include: it sends only the short label of a box. It does not send your notes, your file contents, your financial figures, your passwords, or your passphrase. If you never turn on Spanish labels, no label text is ever sent anywhere. You can leave this setting off and nothing about your content goes to any translation service.
In practice, even with the feature on, most labels never leave your device. The app ships with a built-in offline dictionary for common labels, so those are translated locally. Only a label that is not in the offline dictionary is sent to the translation API.
We may later add an optional sync feature using Apple iCloud (CloudKit). If we do, and if you choose to turn it on, your data would sync through your own Apple account, not through any server of ours. Apple's terms and privacy policy would govern that storage. We still would not hold or be able to read your content. This feature is optional and off unless you enable it.
We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with advertisers. There are no ads in the app, no in-app purchases, and no subscriptions. We have no incentive built on your data because we never have your data in the first place.
10 Minute Dashboard is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, contact us at joel@thirstyaztec.com.
Since your data is on your device, you are the one who deletes it. Open Settings and choose Delete All Data to wipe the app's stored content from that device. Clearing your browser's site data for the app does the same thing. There is nothing for us to delete on our end, because we never had a copy.
Because everything is stored locally and only you hold the passphrase, you are responsible for backing up your own device. If your device is lost, reset, or its storage is cleared, the data goes with it. We cannot restore it for you. Keep a backup of anything you cannot afford to lose, and keep your passphrase somewhere safe.
Privacy laws like the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, export, correct, and delete your personal data. With this app you already hold all of that yourself:
For the small amount of usage analytics we do collect through PostHog, you can ask us about it at joel@thirstyaztec.com and we will help with any access or deletion request to the extent that anonymous usage data can be tied to you.
If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top. Meaningful changes will be noted in the app where practical. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
